Thinking about participating in National Novel Writing Month? Well, you can’t start writing until 12:01 am on November 1, but you are allowed to do some pre-planning. One of things you can starting thinking about is world building — letting the reader into the world of the writing. It’s setting on steroids, along with politics, privilege and power, the clothes and goods, the language and the decorum, the weather and terrain. The things you can touch and see, but also the things that rule behavior. Through a series of mini-talks and active exercises, we’ll help you get your world ready for NaNoWriMo!
