Thinking about participating in National Novel Writing Month – those 30 days in November when folks write a 50,000 word novel? Well, you can’t start writing until 12:01 am on November 1, but you are allowed to do some pre-planning. One of the things you can starting thinking about is world building — letting the reader into the world of the writing. It’s setting on steroids, and also politics, economics, privilege and power, the clothes and goods, the language and the decorum, the weather and terrain. Through a series of mini-talks and active exercises, we’ll help you get your world ready for NaNoWriMo! (Some material may be the same as previous World Building workshops.) Participants don’t have to be doing NaNoWriMo to participate.
LIVE VIDEO CONFERENCE: This workshop will be held via our online video conferencing platform, Zoom. The dates and times will remain the same. You can view brief tutorials on using the platform here. Shortly before the start date participants will receive an email with login info. Please check your spam if you don’t see it.
If you need an accommodation for this workshop, please contact us at access@{{{{homeurl_non_www}}}}. We will attempt to fulfill all requests, but advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility services.
