Have you had an idea for a play or screenplay but weren’t sure how to start, or you tried and found that the results came up short? In this introductory workshop we will explore some of the elements of craft unique to writing screen and stage plays that can help you get started. Topics to be included: getting started, the outlining debate, understanding character development, how to convey information, what makes good dialogue, and more. In the coming weeks and months, subsequent workshops will dig deeper into some of these elements to develop a better understanding. So bring your questions and your ideas and let’s try to demystify what goes into writing a solid script for the screen and stage.
