Learn how storytelling can enhance your writing.
You’ll leave the workshop with two strong stories that embody some methods of storytelling. The purpose of the workshop is to help readers discover similarities and differences between told and written stories and to show how the methods of told stories can enrich written stories.
In-person class: This workshop will take place at The Writer’s Center, 4508 Walsh St, Bethesda MD.
In this workshop you’ll learn:
- The importance of conflict and resolution in all stories
- The role of imagery
- Developing believable characters
- Writing scenes that contain action
- The role of time in the narrative and relationship arcs
- Transforming an oral story to a written one
Time requirements
- One to two hours outside of class.

- All reading materials will be provided.

- This workshop is designed for beginning and intermediate fiction and nonfiction writers intent on writing in a fresh and surprising manner, allowing for discovery by both writer and reader alike.
