Learn how to break down the structure of poems, how to embed these structures into prose, and how doing so can add vibrancy to your story and its tone. The session will feature an interactive lecture during which participants will break into small groups and complete writing exercises. By the conclusion of the session, participants will have composed a paragraph of original prose using elements from a poem of their choice. Participants also will receive a worksheet of exercises for future practice, as well as instructions for how to generate their own exercises. Individualized feedback will be available.
