Since August 2011, the Mariposa Poetry Reunion Reading has been taking place at The Writers Center in Bethesda, MD. Poets from around the region and beyond gather to celebrate the ever growing community of Mariposa Poets that began in October 1999 in College Park and continues to grow at the Mariposa Poetry Retreat. In 2020, the Mariposa Poetry Retreat will take place in the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. Details for Writing in the Rainforest where Martin Espada will be the Keynote Speaker and teaching a Master Class are forthcoming at the reunion reading.
