Pilot Poetry Collective Launching!
Celebrate poetry month by joining this 4-week group, integrating the traditional workshop format with supportive feedback on your poems, along with peer teaching that allows you to share your own passion for the craft. For the last meeting, we will participate in the Open Mic @ The Writer’s Center’s to show off our amazing poems.
Our goal is to have a diverse and inter-generational group of poets that represent the DMV community. If the group is successful, and people are interested, we could discuss ways to sustain and build out the collective.
All experience levels with poetry are welcome. A collective and generous spirit along with a love of poetry is all that is required. The cost for participation is $40 for members and $50 for non-members, with a fee waiver provided for people dealing with financial hardship. For a fee waiver, simply send a request to zach.powers@{{{{homeurl_non_www}}}}.
We will meet Wednesdays at The Writer’s Center on April 12, April 19, April 26, and May 3, all 6-7:30pm except April 26th for the 7-9pm [link id=’2154974′ text=’Open Mic’].
The organizers of this collective are Writer’s Center members Nadine Chapman and Jon Gilgoff. Between the two of us, we have experience in writing and publishing poems, as well as teaching and facilitating groups, including poetry collectives like this one. Join us!
