Complete, revise, and workshop your feature-length screenplay!
APPLY BY OCTOBER 3!
This intensive workshop will provide participants a structured setting to complete, revise, and workshop a feature-length screenplay under the direction of an award-winning professional screenwriter. Each participant will have the opportunity to present a total of 200 pages, to include an original draft of a feature screenplay and pages from a revision. The workshop setting will also include discussion of craft, including but not limited to filmic structure, character development, scene dynamics, and dialogue. Discussions will incorporate screenings of film clips to help illustrate and identify craft elements of particular interest and need. Participants will work on scenes with local actors, and gain the practice of pitching their projects to a seasoned producer. At the end of six months, there will be a staged reading of participant scenes.
The class will meet every other Thursday for 15 sessions from October 20, 2022 to May 4, 2023. The course will be limited to ten students to provide an intensive, MFA level of discipline and rigor. Preference will be given to intermediate and advanced screenwriters who are already immersed in a screenplay project.
To apply, email a letter of interest along with a writing sample of a completed first act of approximately thirty pages to laura.spencer@{{{{homeurl_non_www}}}} by October 3. Please do not register prior to acceptance of course.
