This workshop is designed to help you find your unique voice as a story writer. Whether your bent is comedy or tragedy, mystery, adventure, romance, or beyond, certain elements of story writing are universal. We’ll examine such craft basics as character development, plot, point of view, description, dialogue, setting, pacing, and voice. The format of the workshop will mostly be critique, but will also include exercises and an occasional reading as well. By the end of the workshop, participants will have written a story, a draft of a story, or made measurable progress on beginning a novel, and found their voice as a writer.
In-person class: This workshop will take place at 4508 Walsh St. Bethesda, Md. Participants will receive more information regarding COVID protocol closer to the start date.
