Where are poems found? This workshop will focus on the diversity of “subject matters” in poetry, particularly the personal lyric and narrative poem. We will focus on the impetus and inspiration behind poetry writing, and how experience performs an essential transformation for the poet and extends its transformative efficacy toward readers who respond to the poet’s experience as if it were their own. We will be focusing on the voice of the individual poem and shaping its emotional intensities wherever it is found—coming alive alive through memory, nature, or the social world.
LIVE VIDEO CONFERENCE: This workshop will be held via our online video conferencing platform, Zoom. The dates and times will remain the same. You can view brief tutorials on using the platform here.
