This four-week class is designed to give you the skills you need to write rich descriptive sentences and paragraphs that infuse life into your characters and the world of your stories. This asynchronous class is self-paced within each week. During this course, you will share and revise some of your own fiction and also strengthen your powers of observation through a variety of writing exercises and prompts. By the end of the course, you should have new material that may springboard future stories. Participants should expect to spend about two hours on weekly deadlines and assignments.
NO SET MEETING TIME: This workshop will take place over Wet Ink, which is an asynchronous creative writing platform. The instructor will post a lesson and assignment at the beginning of each week, and participants can log in and read the lessons/post assignments/comment on other classmates’ work at their convenience. Shortly before the start date, participants will receive an invite from Wet Ink to create their login info, learn how to use the platform, and access the class.
