SUMMARY:Perfect and Publish Your Fiction
DESCRIPTION:Learn when your fiction is ready to be submitted\, how to get it ready for publication and tricks to get it published.\nIs your short story\, flash fiction\, novella\, or novel ready to be submitted and published? How do you polish it so it’s as perfect as it could be? Do you need an agent and how do you find one? This workshop’s participants can expect to learn how the world of publishing currently works\, as well as how to evaluate the readiness of their own work. Participants should have a short story or an excerpt of around 3\,000 words ready to submit for the second session\, for instructor and peer analyses\, feedback and edits. By the end of the workshop\, the participants should have a better understand of when their work is ready to submit and publish\, how to get it ready for submission and publishing\, as well as learn various routes and tools of contemporary publishing. Please read Junot Diaz’s short story “How to Date a Brown Girl (Black Girl\, White Girl\, or Halfie)” for peer discussion during first class. \nNote: No meeting August 30. \n\n\nLive video conference: This workshop will be held via our online video conferencing platform\, Zoom.
