Teach at The Writer’s Center
In online or in face-to-face sessions at The Writer’s Center, writers hone their skills in our limited-enrollment workshops under the expert guidance of experienced, published authors.
What we look for in Workshop Leaders
Qualified workshop leaders will show evidence of the following:
- A strong record of publication
- For poetry, we prefer at least 1 published collection or chapbook and success in publishing in respected literary journals. For prose, we prefer at least 1 published work or collection of stories or essays. Authors demonstrating success in highly respected literary journals may be considered without book publication
- Experience in educational environments
- Teaching experience is preferred, but training, facilitation, and other group leading activity may be considered without workshop teaching experience
Conditions
Workshop leaders are considered independent contractors who engage in an established business at risk. Workshop leaders whose proposals are accepted will sign a contract for service for one course over one period. Instructors determine their course content, materials, and schedule, including work hours contributing to the overall success of the course.
