    Megan Alpert
    Wet Ink

Whether you have just started your manuscript, or have made significant progress, this course will help you get over the finish line. We'll learn how to structure the book in a way that adds layers of meaning to the poems within, generate new work to fill in the structure, and hone poems until they are book-ready. To finish, students will revise the book as a whole and make a publication plan.

  • (Wet Ink) The Art of the Pitch

    October 5 - October 26
    Megan Alpert
    Wet Ink

In this class, we’ll learn how to write a well-crafted pitch that can land you publication in top newspapers and magazines. Whether you are writing newsy personal essays or reported articles, we’ll learn how to catch an editor’s attention by pegging our pitch to a current event, and and showing that we're the right person to tell this story. The teacher will share example pitches that have gotten her published, even with few credits to her name. You'll leave class having sent 3-4 pitches to editors.
