This Persona Poem Pop-Up will help writers get started on making their own persona poems. Part of the class will be lecture/discussion of what makes a good persona poem and what to avoid. The class will also feature discussion of 2-3 contemporary persona poems, concerning how they work and succeed and what students can learn from them. Then, with prompts given by the instructor, students get a chance to try these techniques in class. If there is time, students will be given a chance to share their work.
