In this pop-up session, students will learn the essential tools for crafting effective and haunting literary horror flash pieces through lecture and close readings. Experience in writing horror is not required, and in fact if the thought of writing horror “scares” you, it could be just what you need, as the lessons and tools for writing bite-sized horror can easily be applied to other genres and modes of writing. There will be generative prompts as well as tips for how and where to submit work like this in order to get published.
