Get past the blank page with in-class exercises and supportive feedback!
In this generative fiction writing workshop, we’ll confront the blank page head-on. Our emphasis will be on writing new pages and creating a supportive, encouraging space in which to experiment with new directions in our writing practice. Participants will do in-class writing exercises, share from works-in-progress, read essays on the craft of writing, and examine published fiction from a writerly perspective. We’ll also discuss key craft issues like voice, setting, dialogue, and place, honing in on a different craft element each week. Participants will be invited to share a few pages of new writing each week for in-class discussion and feedback.
