Have you ever looked at a map, an order form, or a recipe and thought “there’s a story there”? No? Well, it’s time to change that. In this four-week course, we’ll explore different forms of flash fiction and use them as a basis for our own, off-kilter creations. Come ready to read, write, and give feedback on each other’s work.

About Tara Campbell
Tara Campbell is a writer, teacher, Kimbilio Fellow, and fiction editor at Barrelhouse. Prior publication credits include SmokeLong Quarterly, Masters Review, Jellyfish Review, Booth, and Strange Horizons. She’s the author of a novel, TreeVolution, a hybrid fiction/poetry collection, Circe’s Bicycle, and a short story collection, Midnight at the Organporium. Teaching Style: Tara’s approach is open and discussion-based. Writing and reading are subjective, and everyone has different tastes. The point is to be able to clarify why you react a certain way to a work–what techniques are effective, or conversely, where are the opportunities to make the piece even stronger?
