Take a journey inward and find connections with the ancestors that will inspire your poetry.
This generative poetry workshop begins with a grounding exercise that prepares participants to begin a journey inward. With this experiential starting point, and specific writing prompts, attendees will delve into individual, shared and personal experiences and memories. These prompts are intended to provide the inspiration to connect with and create work that honor their ancestors.
In-person class: This workshop will take place at The Writer’s Center, 4508 Walsh St, Bethesda MD.

Time Requirements
- Participants will need time outside each session of the workshop to polish the work they created during class. Attending The Writer’s Center Open Mic will be recommended to share their work.

- Unsettling America: An Anthology of Contemporary Multicultural Poetry (recommendation but not required)
