Learn how to combine words and art to create personal artistic journals.
*No previous art experience necessary. This class will include different projects and techniques than the January 2025 session.*
Using quotes, poems and/or personal reflections, students will combine words with easy to follow art techniques to create an art journal reflecting their own personal style. *Students should bring to all classes a blank watercolor or mixed media journal, 8×8 or larger. All other art materials used in class will be provided by instructor.
In-person class: This workshop will take place at The Writer’s Center, 4508 Walsh St, Bethesda MD.
In this workshop you’ll:
- Explore your own writing using prompts, poems, quotes, and/or personal narratives.
- Receive instruction in basic art and design principals.
- Try a wide variety of art supplies and techniques.
- Leave with a basic knowledge and skills to continue on with your art journaling practice.
Time requirements
- No time required outside of class.

- All reading materials will be provided.
