Play Scrabble, win prizes, and support scholarships for writers!
The Writer’s Center presents the return of Scrabble for Scholarships, a fundraiser for our scholarship funds, providing financial assistance for writers to attend our workshops.
Scrabble for Scholarships is a party, plus all attendees are encouraged to join in one round (or more!) of Speed Scrabble for a chance to win exciting raffle prizes. Admission includes 2 tickets, which can be used to enter the raffle directly or to play a game of Speed Scrabble, where you’ll have the chance to win 2 tickets more. Admission includes beer, wine, seltzer and snacks. Additional donations are welcome and encouraged!

- The $10 admission includes 2 tickets to play Scrabble or enter the raffle. Refreshments included.
- Additional tickets can be purchased for $5/each at the event.
About the Speed Scrabble Competition
The game room will host concurrent 15-minute rounds of Speed Scrabble throughout the evening. Trade in your ticket, and you’ll be placed at a table for one round. The player with the most points at the end of each round will be awarded 2 tickets, which can be used to enter our raffle or join in more games of Speed Scrabble. Didn’t win? Don’t worry! Additional tickets are available for $5 each. Full Speed Scrabble rules will be posted at the event and explained before each round.
Introducing Scrabble Cheats:
Want an edge over the competition? We’ll be selling various Scrabble cheats for $10-$25. Cheats will include: shortening an opponent’s time, removing an opponent’s tile, getting an extra tile, getting a blank, and many more! Cheats will be available between rounds of play.
