Self-care means different things to different people. As writers, we sometimes have to go into dark places and recall difficult memories to tell our stories. We grapple with inner and outer critics as we expose ourselves in ways that can leave us emotionally drained and in need of replenishment. Further, many of us become so absorbed by the work that we neglect our mental and physical health. In this class, we will discuss self-care practices that help us develop our craft while building creative courage and resilience. We will also work through writing exercises that identify our unique needs and actionable changes we can make to ensure that we are bringing our best selves to the page.

GG Renee Hill is an author and workshop facilitator who helps others discover and express their truths through writing.
