The Writer’s Center is pleased to present “Around the World in 50 years with Photography,” an exhibition of photographs by Mark A. Cymrot, on display in the Center’s Joram Piatigorsky Gallery, July 3 – August 26, 2025.

The proceeds of all photograph sales will be contributed to the Center.

Artist Statement

A career as counsel in major international lawsuits and arbitrations is exhilarating but stressful. Photography has been my escape. During work and on vacations, I have taken a few moments to record the world and people around me. Developing film using an enlarger or later using Photoshop was my substitute for the artistic skill that I craved. Oh, to be Rembrandt or Renoir! But, have you ever seen my doodles? Don’t look!

The Writer’s Center has given me support and skills for writing two books (“A captivating account of a spectacular legal drama”) and more than 30 publications (markcymrot.com). This exhibit brings my two passions together with a fundraiser for this important organization. The proceeds of all photograph sales will be contributed to the Center to support its writing and poetry workshops and many impressive writer events. Over time, my style has varied from realistic to impressionistic using different cameras, settings, and filters. We are displaying a variety of my photographs focused on the wonders of the many places I have been.

Come join us at the opening or see the exhibit while it is on display for several weeks. If you love the photographs, please tell me and buy one. If you hate them, keep that to yourself but still buy a photograph to support the important work of the Center.
